For anyone that knows me, they know I LOVE guacamole. The best part is that there are so many different ways to make it and it's very hard to mess up. Have fun with it, and prepare to be the most popular person at any party if you bring it. Here is the recipe I have made for a long time (and always make more than you think you will need because it gets eaten up quickly).
INGREDIENTS:
- 5 Large Haas Avocados
- 2 Roma Tomatoes
- 1 Medium Red Onion
- 1 Serrano Pepper
- 1 Cilantro Bunch
- 1 Garlic Clove
- 1 Lime
- 1 Orange
- Salt
- Cumin
- Your Favorite Tortilla Chips (I like scoops)
Smash 5 ripe Haas Avocados with a fork or until coarsely mashed - It’s okay if there are still some hunks of avocado since it will continue to break down as you mix in the other the ingredients. Stir in 2 diced Roma Tomatoes, 1 finely grated garlic clove, 1 finely chopped serrano pepper (with seeds if you want some extra heat), 1/2 of a finely chopped red onion, 1/4 bunch of finely chopped Cilantro, 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice, and 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed orange juice. Season very liberally with about a teaspoon of kosher salt and a few dashes of Cumin.
Let me know what you think!
